Winning Maryland Hunt Cup trainer Thomas H. Voss was inducted into in National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in Saratoga Springs, New York, on August 4. In 1998, his trainees Florida Law (pictured above with winning jockey Joe Davies) and Welter Weight finished an unprecedented 1-2 in the Maryland Hunt Cup. Then in 1999, Welter Weight won the greatest timber race in the world.
Voss also rode in the race in 1969 aboard Gassendi (pictured above) . Leading NSA trainer 5 times in # of wins, 3 times in earnings, he was not only accomplished in the steeplechase world, but flat racing as well. For more details, visit racingmuseum.org
